The Humanitarian Practice Network (HPN) is pleased to be hiring a Coordination Manager.

The HPN Coordination Manager will support in amplifying the perspectives, knowledge and research of a diversity of actors engaged in crisis-related research and action. They will be an individual with experience in humanitarian affairs, coordination, networking, and management of communication and learning products in the context of the humanitarian sector. Experience in research is desirable.

The Coordination Manager will be expected to manage the HPN outputs consisting of articles, magazines, network papers and visual products and to support the growth of the network into an interactive locally led platform for knowledge production and peer-to-peer exchange in the humanitarian field.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational, communication, and partnership-building skills, and understanding of the humanitarian sector. They will preferably be based in a regional operational humanitarian hub.

Purpose of the job

The HPN Coordination Manager will be responsible for the organisation and management of the outputs, productions and collaborations of the network. This includes coordination of the editing and publishing of online articles, the Humanitarian Exchange magazine, research-based network papers, and associated visual products and infographics. In addition, the HPN Coordination Manager will lead on initiating and managing innovative knowledge production processes and outputs with local actors.

The HPN Coordination Manager will also support the shift of HPN to a partnership-based network of global, regional and national networks of local practitioners in various humanitarian contexts. To achieve this, the HPN Coordination Manager will work closely with the Head of Development and Partnerships (HoDP) to develop the HPN Partnership Group and HPN Advisory Group and to support the network’s operation and engagement to achieve its mission. This includes contributing to the design and operations of the emerging model.
