III. Some experiences in the field of international volunteering
III.1. Since April 16, 2019, I have been the IUCN PAPACO Mooc Ambassador in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). As such, my responsibilities are as follows: being the representative of the different existing student groups in the region; be the spokesperson for students in the region; provide technical support to students encountering difficulties; report possible problems related to the platform; monitor students and encourage them to continue with MOOCs until they obtain the certificate of success; through social networks or through the organization of presentation sessions, promote MOOCs at the local/national level (professional contacts, colleagues, universities, friends, etc.).
The fact that since February 2022 we have gone from one (01) Ambassador to three (03) IUCN PAPACO Ambassadors in Burkina Faso attests to the dynamism of the Mooc conservation program in Burkina Faso and hence the efforts made by the first Ambassador that I am for accomplishing the mission assigned to it in the long term, namely setting up a network of Nature Conservationists in Burkina Faso.
III.2. With the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), I actively took part in two (02) major campaigns initiated by this leading humanitarian organization.
The first campaign, against the use of nuclear weapons worldwide, led to the entry into force of the Nuclear Ban Treaty at the beginning of 2021.
The second campaign, entitled “URBAN WAR”, and intended to ban the use of explosive weapons to annihilate cities, resulted in the signing on November 18, 2022 by 82 States in Dublin (Ireland) of an international agreement against bombing in populated areas.
III.3. Alongside Greenpeace Africa and Greenpeace International, I participated in several successful campaigns: including that campaigning for the advent of a global treaty to put an end to plastic pollution, negotiations for which began under the under the auspices of the United Nations on November 28, 2022 in Uruguay.
