As part of the TRANSCEND project, join the Austrian Red Cross on 18 June 2024 (09:00-11:00AM CET) for an important workshop on how technology impacts and empowers communities during crises.
Get to know real-world case studies showcasing technology’s role in disaster response, including:
- 2017 earthquake in Mexico: digital tools for disaster relief
- 2022 floods in Pakistan: open data-mapping platform for floods
- Team Österreich Digital: a smartphone app for citizen empowerment
Engage in open dialogue about the positive and negative impacts of technology and communities during crises, covering topics such as:
- Ethical issues of using technology driven solutions for disaster management
- Citizen’s perception of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
We’ll also be discussing citizen concerns and how they’re addressed in the development phase of disaster management technologies, by identifying good practices for addressing citizen needs.
This workshop is free to attend – register now. You are also invited to join the TRANSCEND network.
