What is the PARK?

Earlier this year the PARK (Profiling and Assessment Resource Kit) was launched by the Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS) and the Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS). PARK is a collection of over a thousand working documents (guidelines, TORs, budgets, questionnaires, analysis plans, final reports etc.) related to IDP profiling and assessments of humanitarian situations. The documents are organized in an easily searchable database, which is kept alive as users upload new materials to be shared with the wider community.

Who is the PARK for?

Since its launch in February, the PARK database has proven to be a valuable field-to-field information sharing platform, useful for a broad range of users, including programme managers, assessment experts, information management officers, data managers and academic researchers. Since its launch the PARK has exponentially grown with over 150 new users each month.

The idea behind the PARK is to support those in the field involved in coordinated data collection exercises. As you know, many tasks absorb a lot of time – drafting TORs, creating presentations, organizing data collection trainings, managing logistics, creating budgets, designing the questionnaires… – and often documents relating to these tasks remain hidden away on the practitioners’ laptops. PARK brings these essential documents to the public domain, providing concrete examples of what other colleagues have done in the field.

How can you get involved?
